Nearly four and a half months after the previous coach's first press conference as the club's manager, successor the German coach faced reporters at Rangers' stadium for the first time.

The magnitude of the task ahead of him is widely recognized, considering Martin's chaotic and unsuccessful four-month tenure.

The ex- Wednesday boss was accompanied by chairman the chairman, along with the frequently questioned duo of sporting director Thelwell and CEO Stewart.

But what precisely did we learn from the 36-year-old coach's first public appearance as Rangers boss?

The Manager's Primary Focus - Victory is Everything

One thing came through clearly from Rohl's initial presentation before the Scottish media - he understands the need to win matches, and achieve this rapidly.

His predecessor Russell Martin lasted only 17 games and four months in charge, so the inquiry emerged about what timeframe Rohl thinks is reasonable to transform the underperforming squad.

Although deftly avoiding a specific response that might create later expectations, Rohl's communication was very evident.

"Hopefully very quickly," he said. "That is crucial.
"In football you have not much time. One can talk about long-term vision but we know it's about the short-term and the short-term is about securing victories. This is what I demand.
"One thing is also clear - I need all players to comprehend our intended to play. I come back to my primary message: it's winning, entertaining football and it's together. By following this order, I believe that I will remain for years here."

Pressure is Normal

The previous manager needed a police escort to exit the stadium after his final game in charge.

We've witnessed how hostile situations can become at football clubs when results are poor. Protests have almost become an expected aspect of the matchday experience on both sides of Glasgow currently.

As Rangers' youngest ever head coach, the question asked about what qualities Rohl believes he has that would allow him to cope, let alone excel, in among the most pressurized positions in UK soccer?

"In my opinion expectations in this business is normal," he stated. "One needs to understand that very quickly.
"I believe certain individuals might mention my youth but I'm 16 years in this career. I had an excellent chance to be at the German club and be just the assistant coach, but I experienced the reality to manage a team and the demands you face.
"When you start winning games and then certain people will say you need to play attractive football. That becomes the phase but precisely my intention. I relish that challenge and I look forward about what's ahead."

Thelwell Defends Chermiti Signing & Hiring His Son

Kevin Thelwell media conference

The media pack had numerous questions from the media for Thelwell.

Significant attention has focused on the hiring of Robbie Thelwell as recruitment chief, with fans skeptical about his qualifications for the position.

Nevertheless, he justified and explained the choice to recruit Thelwell Jnr to Ibrox.

"It's always awkward to listen and optically I think everyone understood when we took this step to hire him that he'd be viewed negatively," Thelwell stated.
"The truth of the situation is that we aim to bring the very best players to this club.
"My view on Robbie's career and background is he didn't need my assistance in football.
"He's worked at Aston Villa as head scout, after which he joined Norwich City as scouting chief and then got promoted to development role.
"Prior to our hiring him, two Premier League teams sought to acquire him. What we did from the start of proceedings was consult with Patrick, Andrew and vice-chairman Paraag Marathe about this situation.
"I was extremely transparent and I believe Robbie probably experienced a more rigorous process than anybody else employee by the team.
"I'm certain is that he'll labor 25/8 to be successful for this football club and I anticipate to him proving that he'll become an excellent employee for the club."

Additionally, Thelwell supported the signing of forward Chermiti, who joined Rangers for a reported initial fee of £8m, having failed to find the net in 24 appearances for Everton.

It was Thelwell who brought the Portugal youth international to Merseyside from Sporting - again for large funds in a £15m transfer.

The question came if he stands by his expensive signing, who is yet to register in seven matches for Rangers.

"Yes, very much so," Thelwell answered. "I think Youssef Chermiti is a player who's got huge potential.
"I haven't questioned him whatsoever. Similarly, I think Danny will assist in get the best out of Youssef.
"These are initial stages for him, he remains young talent and naturally with young talents they sometimes require patience.
"However, I'm convinced over the course of his career here he's going to prove that he's a highly capable player."

The CEO Acknowledges Fan Frustration and Anger

Stewart was also in the media firing line, considering the criticism that has been aimed at him by some of the club's fans.

Additionally, there was a banner in the stadium during the last draw with United inviting him - and Thelwell - to pack his bags before being removed for them.

Like his football director, Stewart didn't avoid the topic.

"I totally understand the disappointment and hurt that fans are experiencing because results recently haven't been good enough and no one is happy with those," he stated.
"The pain and disappointment fans experience is matched within the boardroom.
"Recognize that there must exist an outlet for that dissatisfaction and in my role, that's me.
"I'm a lightning rod for such issues and my role as a
